A WEDDING DAY! This reporter is no social
editor, but it seemed to him that the wedding of Michael Lammers and Katie Anderson was a huge aesthetic success.
It took place at the historic Church of the
Assumption in St. Paul, Minnesota, the oldest Catholic church in town and a magnificent venue for such a major event in one's
life. Presiding was Father Steve O'Gara, who delivered a clever and most pertinent homily. Then, there was the trumpeter,
Pam Humphrey and organist, Robert Kaiser, lending their obvious talents. We believe the vocalist, Peggy Sutherland, is
an operatic performer or, if not, at least of that cloth. The wedding party included over 3 dozen souls, twenty
of whom were bridesmaids and groomsmen. The flower girls, Grace O'Donnell and Katie Lammers, carried out their
duties to perfection.
The event culminated at the historic Landmark
Center, a few blocks away, for the reception, dinner and dance, lasting to around midnight.
The sun was shining, certainly a good omen for Michael and Katie as
they start life together and the event went off without a hitch. The best man, Nathan, even delivered the rings to the
priest per instructions. A large crowd arrived from far and wide for the ceremony that began at 5:00 P.M.
