"Too briefly!" |
JACK'S CAIRN. A
cairn is a conical heap of stones intended to be either a monument or a landmark.
Back on May 20 of 1997, yours truly was planting a bed of perennial wild flowers
when I returned to the house for something, only to field Tad's call informing that Jack had died. We later learned
the cause was Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This was extremely painful for the beautiful little fellow had only been
with us 3 months and 20 days.
Each year since, in May and June, those flowers have bloomed and the ache
is revisited, even though we are certain he is with his Lord.
Recently, we built a cairn dedicated to Jack Michael and intend to keep improving
that area. The perennials bloom every May and we add more flowers around it from time to time.
